According to waste plastic treatment, pyrolysis is one of the effective technology available in the world. It produces useful petroleum products, epoxy resin etc. I am planning to conduct a detailed research on the particular area to reach the hypothesis on whether the technologies can be implemented in Kerala, so that I can recommend to the authorities of the concerned government authorities for the plastic waste treatment. As a part of the project work, I have visited Science Centre Kodungallor (Mr. Sreejith (scientist) developed a pyrolysis plant for waste plastic treatment) and enquired about the pyrolysis plant. They are now having manually operating machineries for the pyrolysis process, so there is a chance of developing a modern instrumentation and control (automation) software system to interface the whole plant to make it fully auto-mode. To develop a SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system in pyrolysis technology will give the online view from the plant setup and can be controlled from the control room itself. SCADA systems deploy multiple software and hardware elements that allow industrial organizations to:

  • Monitor, gather, and process data
  • Interact with and control machines and devices such as valves, pumps, motors, and more, which
    are connected through HMI(human machine interface) software
  • Record events into a log file
